Low clics from Osc3? Problems with new unit - v1.5 V v2.0

Post by pascal » Tue Mar 30, 2004 6:19 pm

Hi there, got my (brand new) moog today! sounds great but am having a couple of annoying things and thought you more experienced in the moog ways would be able to help:
1. when sequencer stops Osc3 does some really low clics, like a midi sticky note, until i either switch it off or find the note & play it On/Off
(I run Logic on a mac, don't transmit MMC, MTC or clock)
2. though it was fine when I first started playing with it, now whenever I want to change patch I have to actually press 'enter' to hear it, even though it displays as normal (ie: I press up/down button, the display changes to next patch, but I only hear it if I press 'enter'). Can't see anything about either of those in the manual. Am I stupid or is it faulty?
btw I also disconnected midi out to make sure there's no loop...
Please help if you can.
BTW it runs on OS 1.5 - is 2.0 much better?

Are you sure the On/External is not switched on? OSC 3 will "click" when it's on low because it's simply oscillating at a very low frequency. Also it usually helps to have your sequencer send an "all notes off" message at the end of your sequence.

In the panel menu somewhere you can turn off "performance mode". This will allow you to scroll through presets and access them w/out hitting "enter". Performance mode is a feature that allows you to find new presets while playing live while your sequencer plays the current preset.

If you consider a thorough modulation matrix, the ability for every knob to send MIDI CC data, and to name patches quickly better, than yes.
