Controll processor

Post by Sigesmund Ninja » Tue Sep 12, 2006 1:31 am

Is the controll processor of any use combined with guitar and 2 mooger foogers? or is it just for synths.

Much use.

Which 2 foogers do you have?

I frequently use it to power my murf and 101, after the normal effects chain of my electric guitar or violin.

Yes, the control processor was designed to work with moogerfoogers. It will be a great compliment to any moogerfooger set up.

At the moment I only have the lowpass-filter. But my uncle lives in USA and comes home (sweden) every now and then, usually I ask him to bring along some stompboxes for me, they are way cheaper than here. Anyway I was thinking of getting the MURF and maybe the controll processor if its of any use with the guitar, havn't heared any sound-samples of it when its played with guitar + moogerfoogers... do you know of any?

sorry about my spelling...

The control processor is definitely with it for guitar, especially with the 101. The cp lets you do so much more with the lpf than just the pedal alone can do. The 101 and cp with the 102 are great too since you mentioned you were looking at multiple pedals. The moog site has a couple of 101/251 and 101/102/251 sound samples with guitar on the 251 page if you check it out. Hope that helps

Thanks, I must have missed those sound-clips. So you would suggest the ringmod? I tried that one out at the musicstoore but I didn't really like it. its a bit to wild for me.

This is another pedal I sure would like to have, but as far as i know i doesn't use CV. any of you guys know of it?

wow that really looks cool..

i havent tried a cp yet, and i need to. the ring mod is not as fun as i would like to to be and hooking it and the murf up together isnt that exciting.. its fun for electronica stuff.. but not for my guitars..

ofcourse its all personal taste

I do like the ring mod and would suggest it, but at the same time it isn't the most subtle effect. You can find a lot of subtle uses once you get to know the pedal more (and learn to tweak and control the more pronounced sounds), but it still tends towards more dissonant sounds for me. Once I started patching with the 101/102/251 I really had to start thinking about them as another instrument rather than just as the typical pedals I used before (boss, etc) and I think it's at this point that the 102 is really great to pair with the 101/251.

As an alternative opinion, I love the ring mod on my guitar. Not only can I make everything from crazy gong noises to subtle harmonic accents, but it's the most versatile vibrato pedal I've encountered, loads of variation. It also provides some great CV options for the low-pass filter.

Those are the only two I have right now. I expect I'll pick up a 251 eventually.
