I'm curious to know what Mr. Winter has up his sleeve? Do they have to change all the "Moog" logos to something else? What kind of butchering
will happen? ARGHH>>

I wonder if they'd be able to keep the 'Bob Moog' name on the back? If not, I might have to consider getting one through the UK. No disrespect to Bob... I just wish his signature wasn't so giant

If you import one from the states you'll have no probs with the logo.

The UK ones will still have Bob Moog sig on the back and probably "by bob moog" on the front in place of the moog logo.

Thats my guess.

When Moog closed for a time in the 80's the Moog trademark went up for sale in the Uk. A guy called Alex Winter bought the trademark with a view to building replica minimoogs. He built a handfull and then stopped.....

BUT

The reason why we all have no time for Mr Winter is that he wont give up the rights to the Moog name even though he has nothing to do with the real Moog. Moog music and Bob Moog tried to get the name back but im not sure what went wrong or why Mr winter has such arrogance that he thinks he can keep hold of the name.Its a shame Bob never got the rights back to his OWN name in the UK as crazy as that sounds.

Unfortunatley this made life a nightmare for the real Moog music- they had to remove all traces of the name Moog from circuit boards and cases of all voyagers entering the uk. They are all labeled "by Bob Moog" instead. The only way to get a "Moog" badged Lp or Voyager in the Uk is to import one from the states but they cannot be sold Moog badged direct from any UK retailer as far as i can ascertain.

I think its time to start the petition against Mr Winter. If i find him ill kick his ***

Hey Nick, no difference with mine as i imported it.

Normally Moog logos are removed and replaced with "By Bob Moog" on the Uk versions, not sure if they still have to do that or not,

Hi

My UK spec LP came on Monday!!! Tribute No. UK017 ??? The tribute number
was a bit off putting at first but its all to do with the copy write issue.

I was a bit worried about the modulation matrix being a bit limited but
FORGET IT the presets work great with the mod wheel. This synth is
definitely a performer's instrument I can see using it live is going to
be great fun.

It feels great to finally own a Moog, I've wanted one since the 80's but
couldn't afford the price for a MiniMoog.

i presume your tribute looks identical to the US version apart from no moog logo on serial plate sticker and no moog logo on front panel.

Cant believe Alex Winter is still hanging on to the UK moog trademark.
He must be one bitter guy and now he's universally disliked by all uk moogers and beyond to boot.

Picked up my LP late last week from Turnkey, SN UK002.

The moog logo is on the front panel the only difference I can see is the serial plate sticker.

It sounds great and is truly a performance synth.
