Crazy preset names and no sound

Post by Razashah5 » Thu Sep 07, 2006 10:02 am

I recently upgraded the hardware (myself) on my SE to version 3, but I cannot get any sound coming out of the synth now. The preset names on the voyager's lcd are coming out as gibberish. I've managed to upgrade the OS to v3.2 fine - yet there is still no sound coming out and the presets are still reading as crazy names like "$dwert 3%£3".
Has this ever happened to anyone else and does this seem like a hardware problem that ocurred when i changed the RAM chip to version 3?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Raza

A common issue when upgrading, read this thread:

Thank you for your response.

As you may have guessed from my postings, I am quite a novice on the Voyager, and i unfortunately am still not getting any output from my synth.

I have just uploaded a new set of presets (the Tom Wolf ones from the Moog website) and the presets now have actual names rather than the gibberish that was there earlier.
But everytime I select a preset and press enter, there is no sound coming out of the Voyager.

The Midi LED flashes everytime i press a key and my software Cubase also acknowledges midi activity, but no sound is being played.

What am i doing wrong!??

Ah, I see. Maybe there was a problem when you installed the upgrade? Your best bet is to contact Moog directly, they are more than helpful at sorting out problems such as this. Good luck!

Thanks guys. Amos at Moog support helped me fix the issue.
He's a bit of a genius.
