Screwy OS update

Post by The Guvnor » Fri Feb 27, 2004 3:36 am

Has anyone else had problems with the new OS update. I tried loading just now, but when I send the .mid file from logic to the Voyager, the screen says " BANK A system exclusive transfer was succesful" then straight-away flashes up "SYSTEM EXCLUSIVE HAS FAILED"
"ROM CHECKSUM ERROR"

I would be REALLY gratefull for any help on the matter, even if its just to say that this has happend to someone else on the forum.
many thanks

These are two lines from the *.txt-File inlcuded:

NOTE !!! NOTE !!! NOTE !!! NOTE !!! NOTE !!! NOTE !!! NOTE !!! NOTE !!! NOTE !!!
Please load first the version 1.5 and after that load the boot version 1.2

If you done this and the error still occures, try to download the file one time (could be corrupted during download) or try with sysex and MidiOx or something simular to that. One thing that helped me allways updating my virus with cubase, was lowering the tempo of the sequencer also. The Standart was 120bpm, i uploaded the os around 80bpm.

Need help with v.2 update via sysex midi file.

Tried and failed with ProTools 5.1.1 on Mac OS9.
Tried and failed with Digital Performer 3.11 on Mac OS9.

Both applications transmit the midi file and the voyager receives 3/4 of it and then a message pops up saying that it failed. I've tried lowering the tempo but to no avail. Currently System v1.5 and Boot 1.2 is installed.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

As previously mentioned, I had no luck updating the Voyager with ProTools or Digital Performer on Mac OS9 but I managed to have success with a freeware application and it worked like a charm.

Goto http://www.versiontracker.com
Application: SysEx 4.5.2

DLD Problems

I use (PC - Win95) Power Tracks and send as *.syx files - so far no problems at all...
