alright so i just got my mf 101 today (finally!) and a question:
i find that i have problems switching the unit on and off via the stomp button when i'm in clean mode on my mesa rectifier, but when i've got some distortion going on, it turns off slowly (it's not an instantaneous switch off, i hold it for maybe half a second as opposed to 'now') though it's not a huge deal... is this normal? or did i get a faulty unit?
problem with my mf101 (newbie question)
Hey Deke, maybe you could describe the problem more. From your first post I didn't really understand what was/wasn't happening, when, under what conditions, etc. so it's tough to say whether your 101 is definitely a lemon or if something else is going on.
Before you send it in I imagine you'll want to type up a more detailed description to send over to moog tech support and Amos so you could post that here too in the mean time.

well the problem is that it does not bypass as quickly as other pedals in my do. usually when i hit the stompbox to bypass the pedal it 'turns off' instantaneously. when i hit the stomp button on the low pass filter, the green light does not always turn off red instantaneously all the time, sometiems it takes a few tries before it does. it's weird.
i have another problem, probably not related to the unit: there is a sound/quality difference when i stick my moogerfooger in the loop of my amp and in the preamp (in front of the amp i think it's what it's called). is this normal? i haven't tinkered with the send and mix knobs on the back of my amp that affects the loop so this may be the problem but i'm wondering if this is a problem or not.

The switch problem seems like something is faulty, I'm not very technical though so I'm not sure what you'll have to do. Maybe take it back and exchange it or get in touch with Moog for repairs.
I've had some issues with using my mf's in the effects loop of my amps, especially when using the overdrive channel. Unfortunately I don't have a good solution and haven't really tried to find one. When you put the filter before the amp and in the effects loop it's also processing your signal at different places (either before or after your amp's preamp tubes) so it makes sense that you'll get a different sound quality as a result (like when you arrange your pedals in different orders)
