Ultra basic question -- categories

Post by marc-1 » Sat Jun 10, 2006 2:05 pm

Just got my Voyager Performer ed, already LOVE it... I used to have an original MiniMoog Model D, and it really feels great to have a Moog again. One basic question: The patches are "categorized", but I can't figure out, nor can I find anywhere, any reference to how you might search or browse through patches within a single category. Is this even possible on the Voyager ? If so, I'm sure it's easy--once you know the trick of course. :?

Hi Marc,

Congrats on the Vger Performer, and welcome to the club!

Regarding your question, the Voyager offers no way to browse through the patches of a single sound category.

If you have the software Editor, however, you can easily dump all six sound banks and sort them by category, giving you the same functionality (albeit with a computer attached).

Sorry I can't give you a better answer. FWIW, the categories feature was just implemented in version 3.2 of the OS, which was released just a few months ago. Amongst other things, OS3.2 incorporates some user-requested features. Perhaps a single category browse feature could be added in a future revision.
