ok this is a bit hard to explain, imagine that these --- are non-lit LEDs and 0 is a lit LED

only one lights up to show where the position of the knob is

--------0-----

but i would much much prefer it so that all the previous LEDs are lit as well

0000000-----

really cool to show filter openning and closing e.t.c.

I second godzilla's comment.
and while im doing that:

1)change the name. good humor or not, its cheezy. plus, I'm sure it deters vertically challenged persons of substance from buying it ...
2)change the look to a more simple shape. Simplify! It's a synthesiser, not a first year sculpture student's midterm project...

The name. And put all the interface I/O on the back, not the side.

I was unsure about side I/O myself originally. With Axel Hartmann and his Neuron design I felt it a bit strange.

However, I've been sitting around some Phatty protos for the past week and I can see the advantages.

1) Side I/O is not such a big deal since the LP has a smaller footprint than most keyboard synths.

2) Also, the LP backing is very asthetically pleasing. Putting jacks on that puppy would only take away from it's beauty. It will stand out like a beautiful guitar on stage!

3) It's easier to reach around to the side of a synth to repatch cables than the back! Imagine if the original Moog modulars had all of their patching on the back like the Voyager!!

4) The LP has the Moog sound!! They could call it the "Ugly music Geek on the Synth" or UGS and I'd still buy it for it's sound (although I probably am a UGS  ).

It would be nice if the LP had cross modulation and filter modulation by audio osc. The good ol' Micromoog had that (filter mod by audio osc) and maybe it's a simple sound, but is one of my favourites.
I don't know if it is expensive for Moog to implement it to the Little Phatty, but it would add to it's charm.Maybe this is a question that experienced electronic engineers would answer. MC? Kevin?
Also I like the look of LP, and being in my third year in industrial design polytechnic, I say that it's nice and has that sick (in a good way) 70's look to it. That Hartmann guy has the job of my dreams!

The LP's Mod section allows you to program Oscillator 2 as a source, and Filter Cutoff as a destination. This gives you Filter Modulation by an audio oscillator.

Keeping Oscillator 2 as the mod source and changing the destination to pitch gives an FM effect. It's not cross modulation, but gives you something on par.

Only one thing I'd change !

I would change the nomenclature back to the ORIGINAL layout, where it read "Phat" in place of the technical term "Overload" ..

That was one of my favorite little things about it.... This is probably my 4th post about it, so I will zip it about the damn phat button already (...dang I want mine to have a Phat button :) )

I saw the big photo in the keyboard article, and really it does filter audio mod as I saw in the mod section. I can say that for the money it costs, it does many things. I hope the distributors in my country (Greece) will keep the price around 1500 euros.
