Matriarch unintentional oscillator modulation?

Post by Dhamaryder » Sat Sep 27, 2025 1:46 pm

Does anyone have this problem? I cannot get a pure tone with any of the oscillators no matter the wave shape. There is always this sound like it is being modulated by an LFO. To duplicate what I’m hearing set the LFO to about 12 o’clock and add just a bit of pitch modulation with the knob and with the modulation wheel. I can never get a straight pure tone, it always has this extra pitch modulation sounding thing on top.
On my digital synths I can get a very pure tone. It seems strange with analogue that there would be this extra sound that can’t even be filtered out.
Thanks

I just got a brand new Moog Muse and the oscillators do the exact same thing. Sounds like an LFO, roughly 40hz, is slightly modulating the pitch. No chance of getting a pure, say, triangle tone.
