Just got the email. Yeah! Thanks for remembering the Moog One. And let's hope for a 2.0 version that helps realize all of what the One can possibly do.

Here’s hoping. The midi improvements are necessary and welcome, but as you say there is so much potential to be realised. Fair play to Inmusic.

It's a great update. I've been testing the issue of notes that keep playing (the worst thing that can happen when you're exporting a project... a hanging note...). And I have to admit that it's much better now, but it still happens very occasionally and completely random. For example, I created a loop and spent a few minutes on a track where I drew an arp at 1/16 per note at 175 bpm's (pushing it to the limit), and randomly, some notes got stuck. It's true that compared to previous updates, this one has made it happen very sporadically. But it still happens. It doesn't happen with any other Moog synths or other brands... only with the One.

I repeat, maybe 8-10 minutes with the loop running non-stop. That happened to me once, whereas with previous updates it happened after a few minutes or even seconds.... That said, it would be good if it never happens...

Edit:
It just happened again with less than two minutes of looping. So it still occurs randomly, but a lot less than before. This should be fixed. Oh, and the loop has automation on the filter, opening.

I hoped the firmware would address the synced delays bug. Unfortunately it doesn't. That issue has been bugging me for years.

Reminder : the delays in the effect section won't perfectly sync to the internal MIDI Clock / Arpeggio running. The repeats are slightly off/late and smear on higher delay feedback settings. To get perfectly synced delays, one needs to disengage Sync and decrease the delay value manually (by around 30ms) until the repeats perfectly superimpose.

It can be really frustrating, as many electronic music arpeggio riffs rely on dotted eights (like in "Love on a Real Train" by Tangerine Dream), and the Moog One has never been able to do these perfectly.

If this could be adresses in a future update, it would be very much appreciated.

I noticed that sequencer note trig no longer works for me in 1.8, I had to go back to 1.5. Not sure if there's some sort of MIDI sync setting impacting this as I didn't look any further before reverting back.

Still good to see some love shown to the One!

I tried the update today and immediately ran into a problem. None of my sounds that use hard sync sound right anymore, because the hard sync on buttons on the oscillators are not being set when you load the sound. Also, you cannot even re save the sound as it is not saving the hard sync on setting. This bug has been new for this version. Please can this be released as hot fix, as this is a basic problem.

Quick 1.8 quirk to report. I've been using the same USB thumb drive since I got my One - successfully loading in all of my patches as well as performing the 1.5 firmware update using it. For some reason, my One wasn't able to locate the 1.8 update file when I put it on the root level of the drive (oddly it could still find patches located on the drive). Putting the file at the root level on another physical thumb drive resolved the issue.

Same experience here. I went to something with much more space (64G) as weil. Previous drive was merely 8G.

1.8.1 Hotfix released and posted to support section

Post by Cat Butler » Wed Aug 27, 2025 9:38 pm

A 1.8.1 Hotfix released and posted to support section. The only change appears to be a fix for hard sync being properly set when stored patches are recalled.

Moog - I'm still able to reproduce issues with voices constantly sounding ("hanging") after being triggered in certain patches after installing the hot fix.

Same experience with me as well. Also had the hard sync issue as well.

1.8.1 did fix my hard sync issues. but like Cat Butler, I can also get the moog one to "hang voices" sometimes as well. However, I've noticed that they are usually voices that have a heavy mix of Eventide effects on them. FWIW.

Post by Cat Butler » Wed Sep 17, 2025 2:42 pm

A 1.8.2 Hotfix released and posted to support section. Release notes state the following improvements and fixes:

Fixed regression where envelopes very rarely would never fully go silent and release the voice.

Fixed regression where toggling KEYBOARD CONTROL ON for a synth would stop voices for the other synths.
