I've been happily using VSTs and a Take 5 for the last few years but I recently got a Grandmother and it's knocking my socks off
Unfortunately for me, it's really hard to go back, sound-wise. At the same time, for recording projects, it's not really feasible for me to rely solely on the Grandmother.
I just started playing around with Model 15 app, as a VST in Logic. Wow - that thing sounds great too, but the programming interface is challenging. I have a hard time with the constant scrolling and zooming and I'm not sure I'll go too far beyond the presets there.
So my question is: for those who love the sonic character of the Grandmother and Matriarch, do you find any VSTs or other synths that have presets (ideally polys), to be in the same ballpark sonically?
Obviously the Muse could be a contender, but based on the demos it sounds like a different thing to me. Curious to know what others think.
