I've always seen this as a screensaver mechanism, and probably one the unit should have in place.

It's an OLED screen right - Samsung says their OLEDs need screensavers so it makes sense here IMO.

Screen Saver is a default function to protect your Samsung OLED display and cannot be disabled. To ensure that your pixels last as long as possible, your Samsung OLED TV screen should not display the same still image for an extended period of time.

Mine went blank after sitting for a long time, I watched a movie while letting the vcards warm up, I just assumed it was a power saving feature like someone else mentioned, if you roll the select knob it comes right back.

Looks like it's working as intended

I just got my Muse and the screen is blank. Can’t get it to light no matter what I do.

Also, the powering up is a bit strange, at least it’s nothing I’ve seen before.
For 15 seconds it looks like it’s powering up, then it looks like it shuts off for about 35 seconds, then everything comes on, but with a blank screen. Is this normal?
Thanks.

When my Koeg Kronos 2 boots up, it displays a pop-up telling me that it is set to screen blank after 4 hours of inactivity and gives me the option of modifying or shutting that feature off. It would be handy to have such an adjustment among the setup choices on the Muse. As somebody else here said, this is low priority, so I am certainly demanding this feature.
