my Moog Voyager select series just hangs whenever decides to. the led screen goes black; nothing responses to control changes; sometimes LFO led still flashes at last given rate, but doesn't react to further rate changes; all led's usually just freeze at last given values; if audio connected - I hear slow down-pitch. after power reset - voyager sometimes recovers and plays normally for short time , then dies again, sometimes recovers and operating normally until the end of the session, sometimes hangs with its black screen just like before turning off the power.
I tried to run it with plugged in nothing beside power cable and it happens on the same random basis.
I wonder if anybody encounter the same problem. I'd like to know at least what i'm facing here to at least know if something can be done at all.
I'm having the synth for two years and never encountered a problem like that until recently.
any help is appreciated

Hi funkmonk,
that's a problem of the power supply.
Maybe the 5 Volts voltage is too low. When this voltage is a bit too low the processor's reset circuit stops.
I guess you should contact Moogmusic or your local dealer.

Hello and welcome funkymonk.
Like Rudi, I also strongly suspect a defective switching type PSU inside your Voyager. The symptoms you describe correspond to the typical behavior of a failing PSU.
But it could be a problem on the digital board also.
It is best to contact Moog Music support to get advice on what to do next. If it's still under warranty, no worries. If not, it can probably still be fixed by an authorized repair center.
Anyway, good luck, and keep us posted.
Alain.

Hi there, I have just started to have this same problem with my Voyager. You described it perfectly! I was just curious if you were able to get the problem sorted out? I am living in Taiwan so getting it repaired here is next to impossible. If it were not too difficult I think I could handle it myself. Thanks in advance for any info.

Hi guys,
Andy from the Moog Tech Support team here.
Please contact me directly at (828) 251-0090 ext. 221 or by email andy@moogmusic.com
It is entirely possible that it is a power supply issue, although it could also be a failure of another board shorting power to ground causing the voltage rail to sag/fail. It is hard to say without a proper testing and diagnosis.
If you are in the USA, I will be happy to help you set up an RMA to repair your Voyager, or if you live abroad, to assist you in finding an Authorized Service Center near where you live.
Thanks!
