Moog Source Keyboard

Post by hugostiglitz » Fri Jun 21, 2024 1:06 pm

Hi there,

My Source needs new key bushings. The keyboard is very clicky and hard and keys aren't properly alligned anymore.
Does the Source use an Pratt Read keyboard or what is it?
I found new key bushings for Pratt Read keyboards but not sure what's been built into the Source.

Thanks in advance

I would think it’s a Pratt read keyboard considering when the Moog Source was released.. A lot of synths used them back then.

I had a Sequential Circuits PRO 1 back in the day and it used a Pratt read keyboard.

If it’s not a Pratt Read keyboard it’s probably a Panasonic .

I read in a 2016 post that the Memorymoog and the Source used a Panasonic keyboard.

I’m not an authority but I would assume it’s a Panasonic . Not sure of the time of the Sources production run. Never had a Source.

Yes I also found that post saying it's an Panasonic keyboard.
I couldn't find any replacement bushings for Panasonic keybeds in general.
They seem quite uncommon. Bummer
