Is it possible to destroy a MuRF w/ a super loud signal?

A while back, on a different noise-related message board, a guy claimed that he ruined his Moogerfooger delay by running it in a feedback loop and that the ever increasing volume fried the circuit destroying it completely. Now, I don't know if this story is true, but it got me worried.

I make noise... very loud, very harsh noise... and I'd like to get a MuRF to experiment with, both inside and outside of my feedback loops. Is frying the MuRF by using it in this way a realistic possibility?

i got in contact with moog because i had the same question/concern.

they say its okay and i've used the 102 and 104 inside/after loops with no problems. (i did have an issue with my delay, but can't say that it was related to using it in a feedback loop. it seems to be a problem that a couple other 104 owners have reported so i doubt it had to do with the feedback loop)

some pluses for the moogs: the drive (and output on some) knob actually lets you have some more control over/flexibility with the loop than a typical boss pedal or something along those lines. you can get a little feedback with more of a clear tone or really distort it (controls the pitch somewhat too depending on what you have setup). if you get into the cv controls they let you go beyond the usual knob twiddling to get more complex settings and sounds going.
