Who will open at Moogfest? Our forum members will decide

Post by moogmusic » Mon May 15, 2006 5:25 pm

We need your help! Please Vote NOW!

We have had many, many groups bid to open for this year's Moogfest (BB King's Club, NYC, June 22) and we have narrowed it down to three very deserving groups > Spiraling, Frank Lucas, and I,Synthesist. All would be great; but we can only have one. Help us decide by placing your vote.

You can hear Spiraling at http://www.sonicbids.com/spiraling
You can hear Frank Lucas at http://www.sonicbids.com/LWE
You can hear I,Synthesist at http://www.sonicbids.com/isynthesist

This poll is open until May 31 at which time we will announce YOUR decision.

Only registered forum members can vote!

Thanks for helping!

Wow...

As last years winner, I must say I am quite suprised that all 3 of the bands/artists are quite accomplished already... I am actually quite flattered as well, because look at the caliber of these artists. No amateurs there :)
We were UBER unknown, like 25 people knew us.. Now, its a nice % more. Moogfest changed our life and really gave us a foot in the door. Where before we didn't have a foot to stand on for getting gigs.. Moog synth duos aren't the hottest ticket right now, but damn it, we are DESTINED to change that ;) ...

I say PICK EM ALL. They all sound great ... Good luck to you all.

Sprialing and Tom Brislin

Have had the pleasure of seeing them twice. Tom Brislin is the real deal great, great keyboardist. See him on Yes's symphonic DVD.

Wow. Frank Lucas must have a hell of a bot to get all of those votes.

I can't think of 10 people who like watered down easy-listening pseudo-prog.

Spiraling is a GREAT band. I saw them open for Violent Femmes in St. Louis and was extremely impressed. Then I saw them in Philly at a small bar with about 10 people in the audience, and they still put on a great performance even for that small crowd. Last year, they toured a number of clubs across the nation on their own. They played St. Louis again, to a crowd who didn't know their music at all, and they seemed to enjoy the band very much. They are getting ready to do another independent tour very soon.

This is a band that deserves much wider recognition. I believe that most people would enjoy them if they were simply aware of them. Moogfest could certainly help give them more attention.

Go SPIRALING!

Post by Orpheus9 » Wed May 17, 2006 12:03 pm

Keep those votes going for Spiraling! These four talented musicians are seasoned pros who put on a damn fine live show. Their passion, energy, and musical prowess -- not to mention their international touring experience -- are evident in every performance.

Moogfest audiences will NOT be disappointed!!!
