Problem with my multimoog

Post by solarpanelasses » Wed May 10, 2006 3:22 pm

I got a multimoog recently and I just realized something was off, my multimoog is in tune, but the tuning is reversed! the white keys are sharp and the black keys arent. Does anyone know if this can be fixed by retuning or is this a problem a tech will have to take care of? any information would be greatly appreciated.

If I interpret your post correctly, you say that the tuning of your MultiM is off by a semitone? If that is the case, what position is your mastertune control (backpanel) adjusted to?
I recently helped restore a friends' MultiM and if I remember correctly, the mastertune control had to be set drastically to one end of its range before we adjusted the interal pots to specs.

I will ask my friend - he will probably post a reply and recommendation.

So: more soon .....

This looks like your MultiMoog need tuning. As Dr.T has described my Multi was off quite a bit, but now after tuning to the specs everyting is just fine again - however if you want to do the tuning yourself reserve about 3 hours time. Luckily everything concerning pitch tuning can be accessed from the outside. Go check the web, there are plenty of tech manual copies for the Milti out there.
