Interesting concept. It appears to be nothing more than a couple of A/B switches and a couple of attenuators in a box. You could easily make one yourself from piece parts, but the cost of the parts themselves would probably be close to the cost of the Automator fully assembled.

Ergonomically, the Automator's footswitches seem too close together, and the box looks a bit tall for a pedal device, although the picture makes it hard to tell. Overall, however, it seems like a fine idea if you need that kind of switchable control for your 'Fooger in a live performance situation.

Is this thing a one-off or is it being 'manufactured' in somebody's basement?

i agree it's a simple concept that one could make at home, given the parts and spare time. i think the reason the switches are so close to each other is to allow one to hit them at the same time, as well as independently. i don't know how much of an advantage that really creates. it seems this fellow is making a smallish quantity, or at least plans to do so. i do like the idea of a number of little project devices catering to the moogerfooger line. maybe there'll be more...

I think it's really cool. but unfortunately, the LO/HI switches aren't switchable.. So switching from tremolo to crazy ringmod is not really possible..
