Hi,
I have had my Theremin for a few years now and all the sudden when I use it I only get a high pitch sound no matter where I place my hand or am in proximity of the Theremin. I tried adjusting the volume and pitch nobs etc but no change. Is something broken with it? I am not experience in fixing these do you know what I may need to check?

Hi,
about 17-18 years ago, I had a similar problem with my (at the time quite new) Etherwave Pro. It turned out that an inductor in the pitch antenna circuit had gone open circuit, and had to be replaced (under warranty - thanks to Rudi in Germany for a very quick fix). So the coils in the antenna circuit would be a good place to start checking.

PS The EW Pro has been totally reliable since then.

Update: I opened up the Theremin and noticed that that Silver tape that seems to need to be adhered to the case was peeled upwards touching one of the metal wires. I secured that silver piece of tape back to the base inside and now it is working. I guess having that tape come undone inside somehow effected the functioning of it. Working as expected now.
