How limited is the Anniversary Edition Voyager?

How many Anniversary Edition Voyager's are they going to make?

I'm curious how limited it is? Is it really a collector item?

Has anyone seen one in person? How does it look?

I'm personally not sure I like the way it looks, however I like the backlit panel idea.

Any feedback would be appreciated!

An interesting question.

If they are geared-up then they can probably turn them out on an order-by-order basis - so how many people might want one in a year - that'll determine the issue limit.

I would think it unlikely that the backlit panel feature will be limited to pieces produced for this year only, however any specific 50th Anniversary plaque-type-stuff will (should) be.

Ah... That is the question... I have just secured an order for one from Turnkey (Media Tools) in the UK, who tell me they are getting 5 or maybe 10. When you consider that they had 30 Signatures, out of 600 world-wide (and are the only registered dealer in the UK), this suggests there won't be as many Anniversaries, but who knows??

Turnkey are unlikely to provide anything with a Moog logo without resolution of the trademark issue in the UK (I couldn't even get a Voyager dust cover out of them - don't even know if it says Moog on it !)

I got my Voyager SE direct from Moog in the US - all indicia intact. Do the sums - I paid less, including import duty, than I would have had to pay Tur(n)key for a "crippled" unit.

Kevin, having checked with Tur(n)key about the Moog Trademark issue, you are absolutely right - any synth they supply is devoid of the Moog logo. Many thanks for drawing my attention to this - I wonder why they failed to mention it? Needless to say, I cancelled my order with them (they were actually quite surprised - can't see why, you'd hardly buy a Rolls Royce without the insignia on it), and would be grateful for any advice you can offer on importing from the States.

I won't sell mine either (if and when I get one), and certainly don't intend keeping it locked in a bank vault - I want to play the thing and make records with it! It's just that the way I see it, the whole point of the Anniversay Edition is that it is something special, and not having the correct logo and 50th Anniversary badges would take the edge of that, wouldn't it? Oh, and by the way, Turnkey are charging £2400 - around £650 more than the US retail price - another good reason to import one, as Kevin Bowden so rightly pointed out.

How much did Turkey charge for the Signature Edition. I'm starting to think £2700 for mine, with all the logos intact was a good price.

Turkey were charging £2999 for Signatures, so I reckon you did pretty well. I assume you also imported from the States, or did you get one in Europe?

I got mine from Richard Lawson. www.rlmusic.co.uk and my SCI Pro-One is coming tomorrow!

If I ever do buy the backlit Voyager, I'll probably get it from the States.

But check out RL Music, they have some nice stuff there!

Thanks for the advice, Boeing - I'll give them a ring, tomorrow. I have just recieved an apology from Turnkey (I'll reinstate the 'n' now), regarding their failure to make me aware of the trademark issue. Also, they now state that their price for an Anniversary is £1999 - quite a difference, but I'd still like the 'bonefide' item.

I bought my Voyager performer edition from Turnkey last week (£1849). When you install the OS 2 you get the Minimoog Voyager from Moog Music start up screen. Still no Moog logo on the case, but it's better than nothing

Does it have a UK incarnation of the 50th anniversary badges, or are these gone completely?

I am in the process of importing an AE in Maple from Big City Music in the States. With import duty, etc, it comes to more than the Turnkey price (although the machine costs $3195 - approximately £1750), but it will have the Moog badges and logos, and it has a Maple case - a limited edition of a limited edition - and should be well worth the effort and money.
