Yes! The wheels are illluminated. I think the name is cool, considering Moog hummor. Mike Adams is right, it is sort of tounge and check.

One by one, all the "little phatty is a joke" people will come around.

I can't WAIT to order one. Hot damn, I need this magical analog object.

not to be a party-pooper, but i wonder what the NON-limited edition (performance) models will look like and cost (a little less?)

not to wreck the party.....but it's kinda ugly....and they did end up keeping that terrible name.....

what a shame.....and i really really wanted one......like really bad.....

totally didn't live up to my expectations.

it's not terrible though, i've seen worse.....but what is the deal with all that EMPTY SPACE.....give me some damn pictures or something (to make up for a lack of knobs)......maybe a little mock up signal path.....with boxes and triangles that represent mixers and amplifiers.....maybe a big ole pic of frequency vs gain for the filter ( i do see some sort of picture but they look like the head of a pin, a heck of alot smaller then the button)......i mean how hard is it to add some graphic art, I like a lil bit of descriptive clutter......
ya know?

and for being a completely analog signal path it looks so.....so.....digital.....

eh, maybe i will end up getting it......maybe not......

I'm so sad right now......

electrical_engineer_gEEk: whatever the new Moog synth was in your fantasies: find some dudes, garage space and make it yourself. You can be CEO.

The new Moog synth had to look like SOMETHING. If it was exactly your cup of tea, some other complainer would have taken your post space to moan.

I think it looks fantastic. As for a "digital" look? When I think digital, I think big grey keyboards with 1 knob and a huge screen. The LP is a small, wood-cheeked synth with the Moog logo on it... not every scrap of space should have a graphic or control.

It's called negative space, a design aesthetic. And the LP isn't even that "clean" - it's got loads of buttons, lights, knobs, I/O, et cetera. There's just a little "air" above the knobs, which makes sense.

I understand everyone will react slightly different, but your beefs with the LP seem so... wrong? Maybe I just can't stand to see you so sad after witnessing the LP's first publicity shots. Cheer up, son, imagine running the output into a vintage tube amp.

i like it. they should have ditched the LED dials and put more knobs in.

One knob for cutoff and resonance? Hmmm. I like to take two bottles into the shower.

Uh oh, now I want one. Ugh, I thought I was over G.A.S. but not anymore. I would love to have that synth. The interface looks great to me. I only have 2 hands so too many knobs can seem a bit overwhelming. I always did like the interface on the Source. I might just have to buy one of these.

what a babe!

like the love child of a source and a rouge, raised by the minimoog

as soon as i saw the name little phatty i thought "sigh" but then the picture loaded, now i really don't care

although:
strange how the knobs (value controllers) have a little white dot to indicate position, i thought that's what the LEDs were for, also i think it would be cooler if all the previous LEDs stayed alight, so it's like a container filling up.

but bitching aside,

it looks like a real classic, well done moog!

BTW it has little diagrams of the EGs and the cutoff and resonance, next to the buttons.

And from the die-hard vintage contingent:

Wow. Okay, I gotta say... while I angrily advocate knob per function, and railed against the name...

Seeing it has changed my mind.

That is a nice little synth. Looking at it, I realized I wouldn't mind having a modern Moog. : )

Okay, still not fond of the name... but the font helps a lot. ; )

Wow. Hell MUST have frozen over. Didn't expect to hear that from you!

I must say, I'm eating my words too. Voyager or not, I want one!

Ok and i'm not fond of MacBook Pro either :) but it looks like eventually Steve will get my money...... as soon as it is released with a 17" display!

"Little Phatty", I guess I can live with that too, lol :)

Feel free to crucify me also, but I hate the design, and the name. I'm waiting to hear it, but I'm sure I'll end up buying a Voyager (I was holding off until this was unveiled).
