why doesn't the LP have cv gate outputs!?

it's awesome that you have pitch/gate,volume,filter inputs.

but why not add two more for keyboard CV gate output.
now you have to buy a midi-cv converter to get the foogers to track the keyboard or to play older synths with this keyboard etc.

i'm assuming that there is some kind of midi-cv converter in there to allow the digital keyboard to control the analog VCOs, why not output that signal?

I'm also assuming that the reasons the voyager didn't have those outs were because the of the voyagers strange 0.9... v per octave and the fact that there were a lot of other outs that could be compiled in a small box (the vx 351)

ok there will probably be no such box for the orbiter so we have to get a midi-cv converter, but that will cost us a lot more than if they included 2 more outs on the synth, and its annoying have to cart more small boxes around just for 2 outs that could have been included with ease

so what company makes the best Midi-CV converters?

Encore has the best but it's likely overkill if you just have one synth that needs it.

Kenton has nice mid and small units.

Just get a future retro Mobius and you have Midi -CV and a programable
16 step sequencer to boot.

1/4" (front panel)
V/OCT CV OUT
HZ/V CV OUT
+12v GATE OUT (switchable for positive or negative type gate)
+12v TRIGGER OUT
+5v ACCENT OUT
+5v CLOCK OUT (for arpeggiators, analog sequencers or divider circuits)
+5v CLOCK RESET OUT (for resetting analog sequencers or dividers)

Not sure if this is considered "the best," but I was recommended to try this company by a few people.

I just ordered a custom built box, with two selectable channels of MIDI for two separate CV outputs. One for my Rogue, the other for my MG-1. I was going to get the basic box to use with either my Rogue or MG-1. That one is here.

cv outs

i was really disappointed as well with the lack of CV outs, especially as id love to use with my foogers. I second the future retro mobius sequencer suggestion, i love mine, there is a rumor of a planned chip/firmware update eventually and i think Jered's just a stand-up guy to deal with in general. Always good to support the small family based businesses as well.

Frostwave also make a couple of small midi/cv convertors, they aren't on the website but if you email Paul I'm sure he'd tell you the specs. They're pretty cheap too, and all frostwave stuff is fatastically well built.
