Hey moogers
I have a Rogue that I've been running through my bands pa, but it sounds soo amazingly fatassed when i run it through my bassists amp.
So, I already have a decent cab of my own but no amp. could you guys reccomend a good amp to run it through? Something powerful and perferably older that I could find on ebay.

Not that Behringer gear doesn't have its place, its gear you don't have to worry about. If it breaks, so what.
Maybe look for a Hartke. They're relatively cheap and miles better than any Behringer.
On another forum, I was recommended to get a Behringer mixer, as I need a 6 or 8 channel mixer. Someone commented that they had a Behringer mixer, and it had noise issues... but some others said they had no problems with theirs. Any recommendations for a "budget" mixer that isn't a total piece of garbage? I don't need something fancy, just something that won't mangle my audio on its way through one output. I was looking to spend about $50 or so... but I'll spend a bit more if I have to. I'd appreciate any advice.
And slightly more on topic. What would be a good amp to get for a Rogue? I've read that a bass amp is great for a synth like the Rogue (as Brokeneck has mentioned). Again, I don't need something top of the line. Just something to hook up to the Rogue that won't get blown the first time I try it out

Here's the deal with Behringer gear. It sooooo cheap because they cut cost on hardware, so while it may sound fine, the build quality is terrible. This can be good and bad. Good because if you pay $100 for a mixer and it craps out after 2 years, so what? You got two years of use out of it and they're so cheap, just buy another. Its bad because it could break after a month! Behringer gear is a gamble.

cool.. I'll check out hartke. I'm also open to a good combo. I'd prefer something four tens, but I know that's expensive. Can you get a good sounds out of those peavy 1x15 dealys?

here's a rule of thumb for bass amps, take the wattage of how loud a guitar amp is and multiply it by 3, some people say 4. so if you had a 100 watt guitar amp, it would take a 3-400 watt bass amp to equal the volume. 200 watts for a bass amp isn't that loud, especially if you'll be playing live with other instrumements, and especially if you're using 18 inch speakers, you'll need more to push the low end those speakers will make. if you're playing live with other instruments I would recommend at the very least 400 watts, 600 to be safe. I personally use a 1300 watt ampeg full stack, and don't always find it to be loud enough for me, but then again, myself and my bands like playing as loud as possible.

I am a bass player and have used many rigs and hope that I could be of use. I used a Hartke 7000 full stack with the 4 10's and the 2 15's. This was a nice rig but too sterile sounding and too heavy to carry around by myself. No matter what bass I plugged into, I could not obtain any real "warmth". I also used a peavey when the Hartke broke down. By the way, the Hartke was in the shop 2-3 times a year. I never abused it, it was just designed poorly and had to have all the solder joints resoldered every now and then. The Peavey was very woofy if that makes sense. Then, I ran direct into a yamaha PA. That actualy sounded not half bad but not really the sound I was going for. I then tried a SWR Black Beauty, that went back to the store for a refund real quick. I then bought an ampeg SVT-3. Not bad, sounded a little muddy no matter what settings I put it on. The last amp I bought and will swear by till I die is the Mesa Boogie walkabout scout 12. This thing is great. 350W, 12 inch, the eq section is great but I find with this amp, I can acutaly run almost flat with great tone. It is small and easy to transport. I play in a band with a guy who plays a "drumitar", a keyboardist and a very loud guitar player and this thing could blow them away if I turned it all the way up. I have gigged with it numerous times and people are always supprised how loud such a tiny amp is. But I am not really concerned with volume, I am after tone and this thing has tons. If you don't want the combo, you can buy the head speratly. I am not a spokesperson for Mesa, but after trying amps for years and being mostly dissapointed, I find this to be MY amp. They are hard to find but if you can demo one, I highly recomend it.
