Moog Liberation resurrection and HELP

Post by terrorboss » Thu Feb 08, 2018 1:24 pm

Greatings fellow nerds,

Long story short, the sliders and switches on my liberation started going wonk, opened her up and was greeted by the black foam of death. Insult to injury, the frame was being held together solely by hope and the screws themselves. Thusly, I’ve got a giant project. I’ve got the frame wood glued and clamped, gonna sand it down, wood filler, and repaint. The sliders and switches are coming along nicely. I’ve got two sticking points that I hope some of y’all might be able to help on.
1.The five pin cable pops and snaps when it moves around, anybody have this issue and wa it cable base or the connnector to the keyboard?
2. The cable that is labeled s19 with I’m pretty sure is for after touch effects, came loose at the keyboard side, three wires came out and I’m not sure where goes what.
Any help or tips would rule.

Thanks guys,
Rob

I don't own a Liberation... so can't help you with #1.

with the help of schematics and a multimeter, I was able to figure it out.
Got another question for anyone who owns one of these things. Does the poly mode on all the liberation’s have ever so slightly a delay on them. I’m talking milliseconds. If not, what sort of trouble shooting should I do?
