Hi all, coming up to a year ago I posted regarding this model D. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2
I had to put the project on hold but have now pulled it out to continue with the renovation.
I now have no sound generated except for the 440 generator plus white/pink noise.
When I put it on hold it was working pretty well except for osc 1 was drifting.
I've checked voltages to the oscillator board and all seem ok. I've checked all edge connectors plus multiplug connectors. I did discover a bad joint on one transistor and a poorly soldered cable at the pitch control section but neither of these cured the problem.
Could somebody perhaps give me some pointers that may assist with this one?
Here's hoping
Geoff
Update: This is the early osc pcb and I've remeasured voltages and note that -5v at 17,18,19a is low at 2.4v. So far I can't see where it's derived.

Re: Model D oscillator problem
Geoff,
-5v is derived from the -10 rail actually on the VCO board...and it's the 741 (IC9) and Q38 (2N3392) you need to look at. Flags 17,18 and 19A are all tied together.
Cheerz,
Tom
