Firmware update OS 1.03 to 3.21
Re: Firmware update OS 1.03 to 3.21
At this page you can see that the latest OS is 3.21.

But I think you should to contact with the Moog support first, and then READ VERY CAREFULLY the instructions in the document that goes with the OS update.

For stage version, indeed, but I'm not sure Tribute versions are numbered the same...

Okay, could somebody explain what this means: If your LPTE is still on OS v1, then you cannot update the firmware before first upgrading the hardware. So how do i update the hardware!?

From the Little Phatty product upgrade page, select the Stage to Stage 2 upgrade option. I think the upgrade swaps the main digital board for a newer one.Pienisti wrote:Okay, could somebody explain what this means: If your LPTE is still on OS v1, then you cannot update the firmware before first upgrading the hardware. Given the age of the product, I would contact Moog SVC directly, start with Adam, he helped me turn around my Sub37filterpot PCB last year.

Re: Firmware update OS 1.03 to 3.21
1) LPTE is a Tribute Edition , it's not a STAGE version . Probably, the Stage to Stage II upgrade is only for a STAGE versions.
2) It is a very good idea contact with the Moog Service

Re: Firmware update OS 1.03 to 3.21
Hi guys,
LP Stage I owner here.
Is it possible to use v2 to v3 update procedure in v1.03sc firmware, or another one older than 2.x ? Contacted Moog support service a few days ago with no answer yet.
There's no 2.x OS online on Moog's website for the phattys, just v2 to v3 and the latest 3.x OS...
Thanks,
J.

In the same boat as the previous poster. Can't find the v2 firmware update anywhere. Would love to upgrade my recently acquired Little Phatty to the latest firmware version. It's currently at v1.03Sb.
Re: Firmware update OS 1.03 to 3.21
Heard back from Moog, and just to clear up misunderstandings and misconceptions (since I had it, I'm guessing other owners might as well)
When Moog are referring to the "LP Tribute Edition", they are actually referring to the first generation Little Phatty synths, both the Tribute model (with the wooden panels and Bob Moog's signature) as well as the first generation Little Phatty Stage (v1) synths (at least mine has the grey, sticky side panels and an aluminum chassis). Hence, to be able to update the OS from 1.03 to anything newer, *both* of these versions of the LP synths will need the hardware modification (memory upgrade most importantly).
So the answer to the questions above is that a Stage II can be directly updated to v3.21, while a Tribute and a Stage I (which are probably more or less identical) can not be updated without the hardware upgrade. According to my distributor the hardware update is no longer available, so for those of us with those vintage synths, we may well be "stuck" with them as they are. As a sidenote, the upgrade was really pricey here where I live, so even if it was available, it would definitely not be a worthwhile investement for me, at least.
Good thing, then, that these little goodies actually sound great anyway. I think I'll just stick with the synth as it is and just relish it as the vintage piece of beautiful synth machinery that it actually is

Re: Firmware update OS 1.03 to 3.21
It's been a long time, but I know someone willing to upgrade from 2.1 to 3.2. They have the BootLoader and LP_Stage_v2-v3_Update.syx, the OS in version 3.2 but no OS in version 3.1. I don't remember myself whether the 3.1 is a mandatory stop, neither if the bootloader embeds the 3.1 version.art507 wrote: Sat Oct 07, 2017 12:19 pm At first I updated my LP from 1.03 to 2.21 without any problem .
And then , I followed the instructions to updated it from v.2.xto 3.x. First I had to install the BOOTLOADER to LP and then after restart the instrument (or without restart, I do not remember) the bootloader has installed the last OS;)
Is it safe to upgrade from v2 to v3 without any OS3.1 file?
Thanks phatters
