Now that we have all of the clues .
Any guesses on a name.
I'm sticking with Orbiter.

My experience with people naming things pre-announcement is they use a kind of outsider's logic, and the actual name will fit while being a total suprise.

If this synth has some kind of cutting edge feature, it might be named something that reflects that.

But Orbiter would be a great name for a synth.

Well I sent in the name "Voyager" when Moog Music was holding a contest to name it and what did I get?

I like the Orbiter name. How about a name from a myth or legend... we have the Taurus I and II. Maybe Aquarius or something like that. Being that the side panels are "organic" and flowing (watery - plus the sailboat photoshop!), and not all hard-edge and blocky-like. And the sounds the synth makes will be more fluid and gurgly. I don't know. :D

now I'm trying to remember what name I suggested when they were naming the voyager years ago..... hehe.

The actual name will be good, they've managed to name everything they've done so far pretty well.

Regarding "Little Phatty", that must be a "Codename" or a joke... that would be a really really terrible name for a synthesizer, especially from a company like moog who has made it part of their mission to make synths that last and have classic style.

sounds like a name of a $300.00 keyboard that has built in drum patterns like "Samba" and "Bossonova" and "Swing"... hehe.

Moog Mercury

Moog Appolo

Or how about the Moog Voyager 2 lolol.

But I Still think that Ultimoog would be a sweet name for the next synth.

Dr Moog didn't think it was the type of product that they were looking for.

Moog Apogee

Heheh can't beat a brother for trying.

I agree with EricK, you can't go wrong with mythical names:

Moog Pegasus
Moog Perseus
Moog Poseidon

probably best steering clear of Moog Andromeda though...
