Sub37 'Variance' parameter

I was just reading some stuff which reminded me of the existence of this setting.
Haven't really experimented much with it, i think i dialed in a small amount once and forgot about it since.
Just checked, and it's set to 9.6c now.

So, what amount have you guys dialed in? Are there specific sounds you like to use more or less for?
i'm thinking this would affect the perception of it's tone within a song more than
when auditioning sounds dry during experimentation.
But i've never thought of doing that when composing,
since the tones i get out of it are quite satisfactory already.

any opinions & advice welcome, have at it...
