ENV Gate broken?

Post by triptolemos » Sat Apr 29, 2017 5:41 am

I've connected pitch and gate from an elektron analog keys. This used to work fine and enable me to trigger the Voyager from the sequencer of the analog keys. Since today however, the Voyager seems unable to receive any gate signal and the notes keep sustaining. Pitch still works fine from the analog keys.
It's probably completely unrelated, but I recently started using the BNC gooseneck lamp.

Is there a way to verify if the ENV Gate input is broken? Tried using a different cable, different cv output from the AK, a foot switch, but that also did not stop the signal from sustaining.

Oh man - this one kicked my ass...for a while.

In the Edit menu go to the Vol. ENV Gate SRC. and/or the Fil. ENV Gate SRC and select ENV Gate Input.

Make sure your Envelope is not on full sustain or full decay - otherwise you may think the gate is on all the time.

In the MASTER menu go to Local Control. Make sure the Swtch is ON. This was the part that was not obvious to me.

Thank you very much sir!
Weird thing is: all the settings were like you mentioned. Selecting different ENV inputs and then back to ENV Gate src and de- and reselecting local control seemed to fix it though :D

Cool! I think at one point I had to cycle the external gate switch to make it work. Glad you got it working.
