why no frequency adjust for OSC 1, minimoog voyager?

Post by ummagumma » Sat Mar 25, 2017 11:32 pm

I am curious why there isn't an oscillator #1 frequency adjustment knob?

OSC 2 & 3 have their own

seems it would be useful...also there is a gaping hole there in the control panel, that is just asking for something

how hard would it be to add one?

Why detune Osc1?
You can change its pitch via the master tune and then adjust the other oscillators to compensate the master tune change.

If there would be a detune knob for the oscillator 1, you would have no oscillator that is always playing the tuning of the master tune. Then the whole master tune would not make much sense at all. And as the Voyager got no 440 tuning reference as the Minimoog, you would always need another instrument or tuning fork or tuner to tune your Voyager.
keep on turning these Moog knobs

Prodigy * minimoog '79 * Voyager * MF102 * MF103 * MF104z * MP201 * Taurus 3 * Minitaur * Sub Phatty * MF105 * Minimoog 2017+ MUSE * One 16 (sold)

that does make sense...how would you tune it indeed

I guess making it variable would also affect a lot of other things & complicate

thanks!

It depends on the synth.
The A6 Andromeda allows fine tuning/ de-tuning of all VCOs for example.
