Hi dortola, dortola wrote:As we only have 64 memories for sequencer patterns, I was wondering if there is a way to dump sequences to a computer or to other equipment to build something like a pattern library, which I can send back to the Mother 32 when I need them.
Since there is no MIDI Out (or USB) on the Mother-32, there is no direct way as saving its sequences back to a computer.
The key, I think, is to build sequences on your computer in such a way that you can "play" them to your Mother-32 while it's in Record.
One of several problems will be how to deal with rests. Remember, the Mother -32 is recording in Step Time not Real Time. So, one of my workarounds would be to build computer sequences such that every note is used, but with Rests filled by an extreme MIDI Note (high or low) such that you could, by hand, put Rests back in those locations once the Mother has recorded them.
Ties should work if you're careful about keeping all your DAW notes separated except for the ones you want to be tied.
Mother owners: Any thoughts on best practices for archiving M-32 sequences?
Has anyone made a handy printable blank sequence page yet?
Ideally, each of your sequences could be designed so that they work as shorter sequences that get more complex as you change the Start and End points. 64 of those would be quite useful live.
