...i really think that with the endless knob LED thing
and also the word hip, implies something like VA or plugin
or maybe analog but digitally controlled
You might be onto something!!...I think it'll be a hardware version of the Arturia Minimoog V..simiar to the creamware Minimax...but with a keyboard...people have been asking for a more affordable Minimoog...and a polyphonic Moog...and it'll be cheaper than the rack mounted Voyager...

Possibly, but Arturia would surely be involved as well? It was touted that they would make a hardware version of the Moog Modular V sometime ago, as it's so processor intensive.ARP wrote:You might be onto something!!...I think it'll be a hardware version of the Arturia Minimoog V..simiar to the creamware Minimax...but with a keyboard..

It is better to be loved or hated than to be regarded with indifference.
I might look a fool, I might act the fool, but take me for a fool and I'll make a fool of you.

ewww...did you just quote the Queens of the Stone Age.......?
I saw them live when they opened for another band......
soooo terrible....plus the lead singer was the biggest A-hole i've ever had the experience to listen to......
otherwise......I'm having a hard time dealing with this wait-for-a-month stuff......it's frankly kinda mean and not necessary....
i dont like it one bit...i wanna know now!

hmm
i think that whatever it is it will probalby revolve around a sequencer
the word "hip" for me, brings to mind alll things drum machine/groovebox/TB303 yo yo yo
you know not real instruments just things for DJs to play with
but don't get me wrong i like to play with them too but if moog are going down that path then i'm sad and i won't get one, i'm not paying moog money for a toy!
although analog sequencers are different because they are more experimental
ok what i mean is that if they release some all in one dream box that will instantly turn you into the greatest trance king, then no thanks
but it's probably not that, i'm just being cynical.

I think a Moog groove box would be. . .well, . . .groovy. Especially if it was analogue and had some CV ins and outs. It could tie in with the V'ger as well as the Foogers. That would be a great system.

It's a virtual analog synth I'm thinkin'. It's supposed to be around the $1000 price range, and in the picture of the knob, 2/3 of the LED's are lit, which shows that it's indicating a level, rather than a selection. So I'm guessing it's something like a Nord Lead, but maybe using DSP modelling of Moog oscillators, etc. There's no way they'd build an analog synth with continuous rotary encoders & patch memory for anywhere near $1000. I think Moog is gettin' with it, and finally gonna give Korg/Roland/Yamaha, etc a run for their money in the VA market.
And who better to make something that simulates an analog synth than the company that defined what an analog synth sounds like? And if it weren't a synth I doubt they would have used the word "Moog" as a noun in the teaser. Otherwise they would have said "New Moog Product" instead of just "New Moog".
