High Pass Filter on Mother32...weak?

Post by mattymel » Tue Nov 08, 2016 12:15 am

Is it just me or does this high pass seem kind of pointless? I still hear a significant amount of bass though most of the sweep...even with resonance cranked. Am I missing something?

Resonance doesn't work with the high pass filter, or at least as normal. There's an explanation in the manual about how to go about adding resonance though.

But yeah, it's not a particularly great high pass. I've read speculation that it's simply adding the original signal to an inverted copy of the low pass and letting the lower freqs cancel, but it's not terribly effective. Would have preferred a 2-pole switch a la the Moogerfooger myself but here we are.
