I've complained to both Moog US and Turnkey UK. Moog were very, very helpful an solicitous. Turnkey remained as intransigent and uncaring as usual.OysterRock wrote:Have any of you writen complaint emails to Turnkey or Moog? If this many of you feel the same way, I don't think they'd have any choice but to respond.

After my Tur'key experience I ended up buying direct from Moog in the USA. An email was sent by Moog music acknowledging receipt of funds and approximate build date; another was sent ahead of despatch with an ETA. In the end it arrived via UPS a week ahead of schedule. I simply paid import duty of £16 to the UPS driver.Jyoti wrote: As the matter now stands, I'm not buying any more Moog equipment until I can either import it much more cheaply or Moog switch to a reliable UK dealer..
That's all there was to it. All boxed up, UK-spec, 240v 50Hz wall-wart included and badged as a Moog rather than as some obscure brand of pipe tobacco.
Moog really should change their UK dealer though. It'd make life so much simpler.

Ah! the thread goes on
Turnkey seem to have more said about them on any site than the manufacturers themselves. They continue to have staff that either know nothing about what they are selling or who they are.
SundaeClubber? How did you manage to get away with shipping costs of £16?
That's incredible.
I went out to purcahse mine instead and brought it back into the country.
I was told if I was caught, it would be anything upto 40% duty to pay on it.
Did you contact customs and excise to get a code.?
I was told that sometimes, certain items slip through the net.
With All my purchases from Moog, they've been subjected to Import duty and a really crap rate at that....
Anyway, onwards and upwards for Turnkey......
Will they ever get it right...
I was in there the other day asking about the MOTU Symphonic Instrument(MSI). I waited 25 minutes before being served and then finally, a clown appeared....I said in a authorative way...."MSI"?...
He grabbed his wrist(I kid you not) and said...."RSI"?(which is repetitive strain injury)
How mad was that?. As If I'd known he had RSI or Cared for that matter....
Safe enough to say, these guys are about one rung off Apes on the gene pool ladder of life...
better off dealing with either DIGITAL VILLAGE, THE M CORPORATION OR SOUND CONTROL......
At least their staff can dress themselves and can wear their badges the right way up
