Sending Midi Beat Clock Signal to Mother-32 Via Pro Tools 12

Hi there.
I'm having a hard time figuring out how exactly to sync the sequencer of the Mother-32 with the midi clock of Pro Tools 12. If anyone can point me to any useful resources regarding this information, or better yet provide me with instructions to get these devices set up and functioning properly I would be very grateful.

Issues; Pro Tools doesn't seem to be recognizing the Mother-32, and the Mother-32 is not picking up any signal, even after I go to...
1. Setup
2. Midi Beat Clock
3. Enable Midi Bat Clock for... (this is where I expected to see the Mother-32 listed, but it only says external device, which when selected doesn't seem to do anything).

the mother-32 only has a midi in not a midi out. pro tools has no way of knowing you have a mother-32 hooked up.
