Hi guys, just got my first Moog, a Sub 37 last week, it sounds great, it's surprisingly user friendly, i think this is probably the easiest synth i've ever worked with.
But I do have midi syncing problems with Logic Pro X, which i think are related to each other- but it's pretty hard to explain.
1 - Basically when i play my Sub 37 and record midi to my Logic midi track, the sub 37 doesn't play back the notes.
2 - when i add a plug in, or highlight a particular track in logic, or even press stop on my Automap controller, it seems the sub 37 suddenly stops responding/mutes/changes to a very low, almost inaudible filtered tone. i'll have to switch presets in order to get back but sometimes it doesn't work.it seems like pressing stop or changing something in logic sends some information to the sub 37 that causes it to mute/ change parameters.
3 - when i use the add new audio tracks (external instrument) in logic, the sub 37 midi out isn't available, this means i can only control my external instrument via a separate midi and audio tracks in logic, not really terrible, but not something i'm accustomed to.
basically i've toggled with local control, turning them on/off hoping it would resolve my issues, and changed my logic project settings so that midi time code is sent to the sub 37, but unfortunately it didn't work. Anyone else having this problem? hope someone can help me with this.
Thanks!
Logic midi resetting/muting my sub 37
Re: Logic midi resetting/muting my sub 37
Hey,
i have similar problems. I am using a sub37 (firmware 1.2.0) with Cubase 8 on a 27" iMac. I had it connected via USB. I think loading the Editor-PlugIn made it worse sometimes, so for now I don't use the PlugIn. Connecting the sub37 via Midi In/Midi Out over my Midi Interface helped for most of the times, but sometimes there still occur problems.
I don't have time at the moment for an in-depth check, but i will do it in the near future and send more information (and especially try to reproduce that behaviour.
Any suggestions for a solution?
Jasper
