Sub 37 - ST1 RESET - Bug?

Post by jbone1313 » Sun Aug 07, 2016 6:23 pm

Per the manual:
Step 1 Reset causes the Arp or Sequencer to restart at step 1 any time a voltage
trigger (voltage RISING from below 2.5 volts to greater than 2.5 volts) is detected at
the CV input.
When I send a CV run signal, which rises and stays high until I hit stop, the Sub 37 always stays on the first note, as if it is interpreting the constant high signal as a constant reset. I do not have a great option for sending as reset signal, so it would be ideal if this worked with a run signal.

Is it possible to update the Sub 37 firmware to only reset when a voltage RISE is detected (as the manual states)?

I.e., why should the Sub 37 care whether or not it gets a run signal or a reset trigger? The positive change in voltage should be all that is needed?

I hope this makes sense. Thanks a lot!

It needs a trigger signal (as the manual states). You're sending a latch signal.

For less than $1 you can convert your latch signal to a trigger signal by sending it through a capacitor/resistor in parallel. See pic. icyw, the resistor discharges the capacitor.
Have tested the 100nF capacitor/100K resistor - it works well and has a fast rise time. Otherwise do it all through MIDI.

Thanks for the reply. I ended up using Expert Sleepers Silent Way Sync plugin to send a reset signal from my DAW through my RME UFX to the Moog. Works great.
