Little Phatty wont connect with midi/usb or show up on iMac

My Moog little phatty wont show up on my iMac, I've tried connecting the LP with my:
1. 'ESI M8U' midi card,
2. with a Roland USB-->Midi card
3. and with the USB on the side of the LP.

But still no contact with the mac on any of the 3 alternatives. The last time i used it it worked perfectly, so i find this very strange (couple of weeks ago).

I have checked that all midi cables work, tried different USB cables (using no extensions), I've tried restoring to factory defaults, master reboot - but it still wont show up.

Have i missed something obvious here?

and the firmware version is 2.2. 593 - i can't even update that since my computer doesn't recognize the little phatty.
