Pitch Bend Wish
Pitch Bend Wish
I love the Voyager...I started with the RME and now just purchased a brand new Performer - what a killer sound for leads!!!
I have one request for the Moog OS programmers - provide the capability to have independent pitch bend up and down values. My preference is to have a whole step pitch bend up and an octave pitch bend down. Most synths allow you to set this up but unfoirtunately the Voyager can't do that. It would make this incredible synth even better for leads.
Hopefully you're listening...

I own more then 20 different synths from old monophonic analogs to modern DSP ones. And none of them over a differend pitch bend up and down range. Did I bought the wrong synths

keep on turning these Moog knobs
Prodigy * minimoog '79 * Voyager * MF102 * MF103 * MF104z * MP201 * Taurus 3 * Minitaur * Sub Phatty * MF105 * Minimoog 2017+ MUSE * One 16 (sold)

I'm sure you have purchased great synths!till wrote:I own more then 20 different synths from old monophonic analogs to modern DSP ones. And none of them over a differend pitch bend up and down range. Did I bought the wrong synths
My Korg Triton, Yamaha Motif, Yamaha S90, Access Virus TI, and Kurzweil K2500 all have the ability to set different pitch up and down values. My Nord Lead 3 and the Moog are the only that do not.
For an example of using an octave down and whole step up, you can check out the following recent performance I did using Jordan Rudess's Triton. He was the one who actually gave me the idea to use those pitch bend settings:

Pmarafio -
Great suggestion! I've wished for this as well.
I would include the Alesis Ion to the list of synths having separate programmable pitch up and down ranges. It's a great performance feature - it should be available on every synth.
What do you think, Rudi? Is it possible to add?

BTW - Very nice work in 'HHF-Keyfest'! Where was the song recorded?

Thanks Greg. Jordan Rudess sponsored a "Keyfest" last year in New York. Keyboard players submitted auditions and Jordan selected some of us to perform. He then commented on our playing and offered suggestions.GregAE wrote:Pmarafio -

His main suggestion to me was to work on using the pitch wheel for vibrato rather than the traditional approach of using a mod wheel. The ability to have the octave down and whoie tone up makes that approach work far more effectively since you can get different vibrato effects by bouncing the wheel down as opposed to up.
Hopefully the Moog programmers will add this to a future update.

I like that idea. But the change would bring us another reset function in the factory setup menu.
