Little Phatty Envelope filter pedal?

Post by bwah40 » Mon Feb 29, 2016 11:17 am

I'm trying to get that super wet quacky funk bass. Kinda the lovetone meatball/mutron quack. I can't get really achieve that to my liking with just the little phatty. This could be my skills. I was looking at the mf-101. Is this redundant or is the envelope follower worth it? Any tips or pedal suggestions is much appreciated. Thanks

In another thread someone introduced the Waldorf 2-pole. I watched a video or two and it sounds ded very nice!

Yes! Note that a lot of the quackiness of the Mutron comes from the band-pass filter. A Moog filter is 24 db slope low pass and a different beast. I think on the LP you can set the filter to two pole (12 db) but it is still low pass. 2 pole with lots of resonance will get you part way there, but you really need a band-pass filter for that sound.
