SUB37 VCA envelope in Init preset no working

Post by numinous01 » Tue Jan 12, 2016 2:51 am

Hi there,

I'm assuming there's an obvious answer to this question, but I am stumped. When I go to Init preset patch to create a new sound the VCA envelope has no effect on the sound, the vcf envelope works as normal. If I use any of the patches on banks 1 through 9.6 the VCA EG works fine. Am I missing something here? Is there a setting to initiate the envelope? The Sub37 is only 5 days old. Any help would be appreciated.

Ken

Hi Ken,

Normally the VCA envelope should work with the INIT patch.

Do you have Knob Shift activated?
it is the button between the envelope generators.
When this button is blinking, The VCA and VCF envelope has different options.
hope this helps

in weird cases like this it's always worth trying the obtusemoose fix of doing a sequence erase - hold [BANK] and turn the PATTERN knob to [REC].

That has fixed a few weird issues for people (including one for me).

Hi Paul,

thanks for the advice, I have given it a try and it hasn't helped.

I think the problem is a bit bigger than I thought the envelope effect I had seen in the patches was most likely the EG positions as a modulation source, not effecting the signal path, so it looks like a faulty unit which I am taking back today.

Thanks again for your help guys
