3.1 Compare Function (Again!)

Post by punkdisco » Sat Feb 04, 2006 1:51 pm

Firstly, I apologies about asking this. There is clearly a lot of 'compare' discussions in here but I really can not find an answer to this one..

Just upgraded to 3.1 and all is fine (like the load the file B, A, then C - nice touch!) Anyway, got rid of the nonsense Compare patch after reading the archives. Here is my question:

Do you have to do an

Edit -> CompareToPreset

before your edited sound is in the Compare buffer that allows you to quickly toggle using the Enter/Cursor keys? I imagined that any sound edit would automatically go into the compare buffer, overriding what was currently in there. It looks to me like you have to force our sound into the buffer if you want to later quickly compare..

I guess it makes sense but it would also make sense if it was an automatic process..

Ta for any replies.. Love the new touches btw. Transpose is wicked, as is the reduced MIDI data send option..
