Sub 37 Compare Button Glitch

Post by Flareless » Tue Jun 16, 2015 7:38 am

I was editing a sound on my Sub 37 the other day. When I pressed Compare the Sub switched banks and played me a different sound entirely.

Check it out...

Rebooting fixed it

I'm not sure that's a glitch, as my Sub 37 exhibits the same behaviour. If I'm editing a patch and it's not the last patch that was active, the first time I press the Compare button it switches to that previously active patch. I then enter the Bank and Preset number of the patch I'm currently editing/comparing, the synth goes to that patch (no edits are lost!) and from then on, toggling the Compare button stays on that patch.

I believe it's a byproduct of being able to Compare any Preset on the Sub 37 without wrecking what you have in the Edit Buffer.

It's very convenient to be able to audibly audition which Preset location you want to overwrite with your current edit.

(Most synths will only show you the preset names when choosing a Save location.)

Hi Folks. Thanks for the replies. After re-reading the documentation it does appear that this behaviour is normal. Personally I would like it to default to the preset I'm using as sometimes I like to compare the original to the modified version. That's just me though...
