Naming Presets Sub 37

I've noticed that when naming a new preset using the Fine Tune knob and the UP cursor, when I press the UP cursor to move to the next character, I occasionally get a duplicate of the previous character. This really comes in handy sometimes but seems to be unpredictable as to how and when it happens. Does anyone know how to duplicate this behaviour consistently?

Try to hoover over the position with the fine tune knob, it's the movement that sends the changing character, and if not changing enough, you'll have the same char.

I use that too and it's quicker than with the arrows indeed.
