Hi,
Probably being overly skittish about my Sub 37 (about a week into messing with it--amazing stuff), but am curious: my headphone out seems really quiet. Is this normal? I was using headphones with impedance ratings of 63 and 65 ohms.
Thanks for indulging my mania!

The Master Volume knob also affects the headphone volume. Do you have both turned up?
Re: Sub 37 Outputs
I'm with you, the headphone out is a tad on the quiet side. Maybe good news to save the ears.
At least there is a MUTE button to allow for monitoring unlike on the Sub Phatty.
I believe the relationship between master volume and headphone is a hardwired feature, and they cannot be uncoupled.

AKG's by any chance? Mine at least are much quieter than my Philips which are only 32 ohm and which i can't use to turn the volume over 3/4's. The other reason why i don't use the better sounding AKG's on my Little Phatty, is because they (the headphones) have a relative weak bass response which is not representative for speakers, monitors or other headphones.abmusic wrote:Hi,

Re: Sub 37 Outputs
My favorite synth phones that I've used since my days at Kurzweil (Young Chang Research and Development) in the '90s are the Sony MDR-7506.
They're comfortable, fold up into their vinyl bag, and are loud enough for everything, even the original K2000s which were VERY quiet if you used AKG K240.

Re: Sub 37 Outputs
Bumping this one...some further questions.
So headphone out seems pretty quiet.
Is the TS output of the S37 line level? Running the unit directly into my audio interface yielded a very low signal. However, when I run through a passive DI box (radial) or the DI inputs on the audio interface I need only adjust the gain and I'm off and running.
Am i missing something that's just par for the course? I ran the sysex pot calibrations and everything seemed the same afterward.
Thanks so much!
