I use the Boss RE-20 pedal, sounds great. Really good emulation of the Roland Space Echo.

I just got an Eventide Timefactor for my Sub and *love* it. The two delay times, MIDI sync capability, advanced mod/filter options, soo clear it really helps the Sub shine!

My 104m has been shifted to the minibrute and/or volca sampler now.

Nice demo. Which stereo model did you install on the iStomp pedal (that kicks in at 0:36)?

Thanks, Dan, coming from you that means a lot!

It's the Magic Fingers Vibrato, with the width turned way back. I like the stereo field I get from it and a something-something like the old Roland Dimension D...

The Timeline's a really nice delay. I thought long and hard between the Timeline and 104M, before finally choosing the 104M as I just liked the sound and tone a bit more than all the added functionality the Timeline provided. As it turned out, I wound up with the 104M-SD cause the shop I ordered through sent me the wrong one. ;) They told me to just keep it when I informed them of the error. I really like them now. :)

Wow. That's way cool. I like my 104m so much I will probably end up getting the 104SD to make the perfect dual delay set up...Other than the creamy tone of these, I really like that you can get a very convincing wow and flutter by modulating time with the sample and hold waveform-rate set between 12-50 and amount between 1-2. Great fun.

Just ordered the Minifooger Chorus (from a store you might know Dan!) to replace the iStomp, which I like but I think is beginning to sound a little, well, *digital* to my ears...

strymon makes great pedals, doubt you will disappointed, however, they are digital (not that I'm an analog snob by any means) and the 104M is simply in a difference class

I have both, as well as some others, and I wouldn't give up my 104M no matter what

the one drawback to the smaller model strymons is that they have no midi control...that being said, I still love my el capistan for digital tape delay and deco for doubletracker

in addition, strymon's support is stellar, just like moog

you can find used 104M now and then too...heck, I'm even selling one since I was able to pick up the SD

the other thing to keep in mind about the 104m, it will likely hold it's value for a long time

minifoogers are nice value if you don't need the midi/modulation but still want the sound

Hey y'all, I'm new to the forum (having just bought a Sub 37) but digging all the informative posts so far. And REALLY looking forward to the new 37 firmware-- the sequencing updates look awesome.

Anyway, I just wanted to add my 2 cents re: delay pedals because I've owned way too many of the damn things, including a bunch of the ones mentioned (Flashback, Timefactor) and plenty more not (original EH Deluxe Memory Man, Maxon AD-900 and on and on)...

Bottom line? I'll never get rid of the Memory Man because the tone is unreal. Haven't played the Moog everyone's going on about, but I understand the enthusiasm for great analog delay sounds.

But-- the MM is big, limited and sucks tone due to its signal path design. For features AND sound, you can't beat the Timeline. For years, I only allowed analog pedals on my board, but once you find a great digital delay and explore all the sounds it can provide beyond the basics, it's hard to justify the "analog only" ethos, IMO.

Functions like looping, backwards delay, sync'd tremolo and panning, stereo ping pong, etc. with a synth is way too much fun to pass up just because the Strymon isn't analog. And that's just scratching the surface. Presets, MIDI clock sync, expression pedal control of ANY parameter and totally bizarre sounds like bit-crushed delays that you can't find outside the digital realm open up huge sonic possibilities.

I think you'll love the Timeline. Strymon's El Capistan was the first digital delay I ever bonded with, and IMO their modeling is unparalleled, even when compared to Eventide and TC, whose pedals I rejected as sounding "too digital"... Enjoy!

I love my Eventide Space (but that's a gear shift to reverb) ...just sayin' :)

like you said, I think the El Cap is the king of modeled tape delay...for what it's worth, you can get tape delay type sound from the 104M as well (it has an LFO to work with)...just not as in depth as the El Cap...Strymon's own Timeline isn't even as good as the El Cap in the tape delay department...the El Cap does a great job at what it was built to do

but again, if I had to give up all my delay pedals except one, the 104M isn't going anywhere ;)

I'm using an old Ibanez HD1500 with mine. A friend owns the MF Delay and it's so warm and musical, I was really impressed with how excellent it sounds.
