Sysex Decode

Post by Tech_Buzz » Sun Dec 07, 2014 2:43 pm

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has a reference to the Sysex file format decoded? What I am looking for is what each byte in the sysex file means. I obviously get what some of it is. This is standard sysex format. I am looking for information after the header. How does each byte map to a parameter. I am trying to decipher this myself and I don't quite understand some things. Such as, the LFO parameter seems to take up 3 bytes.

I do own a legit copy of the sound tower editor. It was useful to organize my patches into the way I like. Now I am trying to integrate this into Ableton. I have a way to flip through patches in Live with Max. In Max I can store all of the values of a sysex file and recall them. For me this is super useful. So, if I can figure out a way to decode the sysex file I can get the data into a Max patch and be integrated into Live.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
