sub 37 midi problem

Post by soundremo » Sun Nov 23, 2014 6:20 am

hello all
i am running a pc with win 7 64 bit
cubase 6.5
sub 37 1.0.4

the sub 37 works as an audio device perfectly
but when i open a midi channel i get midi note hang and it wont stop even after i press the panic button and it will only stop when i delete the midi channel
i am shur that this is a stupid problem that can be solved by changing something in the sub midi menu or cubase
my workflow is :
new project on cubase sub is configured audio and midi
right click open audio channel and set in\out press monitor audio channel and the sub works grate
right click open midi channel set in\out to sub 37 press a key on the sub and the midi hang starts and as i said above it wont stop until i delete the channel
i also tried opening as instrument (right click open instrument track and its still the same)
i am thinking there is a midi loop

what are the settings in the midi menu that i need to input in the sub
can some one help me with this and Write down the midi menu settings

thank you very much

My wild guess is:

1) your PC receives and sends midi from/to the Sub 37
and
2) your Sub 37 might be not switched to "Local OFF".

At least this would be a typical scenario for a midi loop and may cause the issues you have described.

Try: Menu: GLOBAL --> LOCAL CONTROL and set ALL to "OFF" (manual p.40)

Now your synth should only send midi to your PC without generating sound by itself. The midi-out will be received from the PC, retrurned to the synth, and finally the synth creates sound. Keep the midi connections short to prevent latency and don't forget to switch "local on" for playing the synth without PC or DAW.
