osc 2 keyboard tracking

Post by peachfuzzmcgee » Fri Nov 14, 2014 4:07 pm

Hello,

So my voyager was going out of tune as of late so I decided that I would give it a recalibration. I got the 1st and 3rd oscillator perfectly in tune and tracking well, but the 2nd osc is just not tracking correctly and the single turn screw at rp21 is not doing a damn thing no matter how I turn it. This is reay bumming me out because I have the low e in tune in any of the octave knotches but the keyboard tracking is a little over a whole note off.

Is there anything I could do? Does this mean I must take it in to get serviced because I hate getting relatively new used gear and be unable to use it properly, I'd rather just sell it off. This is my first moog and it's frustrating to say the least.

I asked a couple other forums but most told me to just make an account here to ask.

Thanks for any help!

And we here will tell you to contact Moog Service. They really are great at supporting their gear and no one knows the answers better than they. It doesn't matter if you bought it new or used, they'll still give you what you need.

Calibrating (correctly) analog oscillators is not for the faint of heart without correct tools and service manuals. Just turning pots when you don't know what they do is a recipie for deep frustration.
Maybe you SHOULD just sell it to someone who might appreciate the instrument. Or buy a NEW one with a warranty.
