Controlling Sub 37 with MIDI CC via Ableton Live
Controlling Sub 37 with MIDI CC via Ableton Live
I love the feel of my Sub 37, but sometimes it's out of reach and I want to control a few parameters from my Ableton PUSH. I am using 2 max4live devices to help me out 1) Dialtoprogramchange & 2)ControlChange8. Dialtoprogramchange switches presets and controlchange8 helps send cc changes to the Sub37, something Live does not seem to do natively. My problem is that this is basically a broken solution, the sound quickly cuts out and I need to power the sub37 down and up to get the sound back. Midi is still hitting the sub37, seen through the flickering of the MIDI button. Are there any more stable, & elegant, solutions to accomplish this? Thanks!

What do you mean Live doesn't send CC messages to the Sub natively? What version of Live? I have Live 9 Suite and haven't run into a situation where I'm not able to automate most things on my Sub, but I usually do my automation directly in the DAW using the clip's envelope, not using another controller. Nonetheless, it appears to me that Live is very capable of sending CC messages.

Live 9. You have been able to map CC to MIDI controller knobs? That's what I'm trying to do. I think maybe you misread my post. Of course Live can send MIDI CC, but not specifically as intended. I can draw CC information into a clip that sends to the Sub37, but I'm trying to MIDI map CC #'s and control via PUSH. Any ideas?

This looks like the solution I've been searching for.
Via shadx312 on the Ableton Forum ... "using Macrobat. Install Clyphx, which includes Macrobat as part of it's script. Then you use a midi, instrument or audio effect rack (it] shouldn't matter which type it is) and call it NK MIDI, then you rename each macro like [CC71] or whatever the cc number is you want. All the info is in the Macrobat pdf you get with the Clyphx download.

To get this properly working with the Sub 37 you must update the firmware to v1.0.4WesWook wrote:This looks like the solution I've been searching for.
